Oboe staple: Chiarugi 2S, brass

In recent years, Chiarugi has extended its bestseller, the Chiarugi 2 staple, to include several new variants, including the so-called cork-less staples.
With these staples, the cork is replaced by silicon rings and the space in between is filled with varying amounts of solid metal.

With the 2S staple, the cork is basically completely replaced by brass. This makes the staple much heavier compared to the normal Chiarugi 2 staple, but the feeling when playing on these staples is much more "airy". Those who want an even freer feeling when playing should try the Chiarugi 2M and the Chiarugi 2E staples.

Since the bore of the 2S is the same as that of the Chiarugi 2 staple, the mandrel for Chiaurgi 2 staples can also be used for these.

The great advantage of cork-less staples is that there is no cork left that can wear down over time. Only the silicon rings need to be replaced from time to time.
