Wooden convex plaque

Convex plaques offer the reed and knife better support than when scraping with a flat plaque. This support helps reduce the chances of your reed splitting - particularly when scraping the tip.

As with all wooden plaques, this convex plaque is gentler on the knifes blade than steel plaques (which can quickly blunt the knife). Over time the area under the tip will naturally show signs of wear and tear from scraping. These areas can often be smoothed out again with sandpaper - thus prolonging the life of your plaque!
