Shaper Handle, Chiarugi

The Italian family business Chiarugi, based in Trento, is one of the best-known names for reed-making accessories in the double-reed field. Chiarugi is world-famous above all for its staples: precisely made from brass or nickel silver, carefully corked and finished by hand. Among oboists they are regarded as a benchmark for consistency and quality and are available for almost every type of instrument – from oboe, oboe d'amore and cor anglais to the bass oboe and the classical and baroque oboe.

Beyond staples, Chiarugi produces an extensive range of tools and accessories for reed making, including shaper tips, mandrels, knives, plaques, goldbeater's (fish) skin and drying boards.
