Many oboists prefer using razor blades when shaping cane on handheld shapers. The major disadvantage of conventional razor blades is that both sides are sharpened. They can therefor be a considerable safety hazard when slips occur.

Our safety razor blades are only sharpened on one side and benefit from a reinforced spine. This ensures a safer shaping process!
