Determining the exact diameter, is essential for an accurate gauge result. The better the cane fits inside the curved part of the radius-gauge, the more precise the results are.

If you use this handy tool to select cane (preferably using it against the light), you will be amazed at how much easier it is to achieve the desired gauge thickness. In contrast to the aluminium caliper, this caliper is made of steel and snapped in 1/4mm increments; it thus allows more accurate readings.

The tool is suitable for cane diameters of 9.5-14.0 mm.
