Octave box key

Water in the second octave box is - with all makes of oboe - a common problem. The cleaning and greasing of the octave tone holes greatly reduces this recurring problem.
Therefore it is important to remove the octave box safely and without scratching the wood. Our adjustable octave box key with a hardened steel tip can be fitted to all octave boxes by gently turning the brass head until it fits. This design allows the octave box to be safely removed and refitted.
