Oboe Staple: R12

The R12 staple was created in collaboration with Carlo Romano and Francesco la Ferla, the manufacturer of Guercio staples. The goal was to create a staple that facilitates a more voluminous playing feeling.

The D12 staple acted as the basis for the development of this new staple. Both the top and bottom measurements are the same as the D12, however, the progression from the oval top to the round bottom is completely different.

The brass of the "CU"-version of the R12 staple has an increased copper content. This makes the material softer, therefore making it vibrate better. Staples made of red brass are similar to the original Klopfer or Glotin staples in terms of their playing characteristics.
