Oboe reed: Thamar

Making reeds costs oboists a lot of time, money and nerves. Isn't your time far too valuable for this? It seems impossible to me to be able to solve the universal reed-making problem completely and in the same way for each reed. No two reeds will ever be one hundred percent the same. However, through diligent checking, working extremely precisely and a natural handling of the cane, you can try and get the best out of each reed so that the cane releases its full potential.

I am an oboist myself and am familiar with the reed-making-stress that all oboists have to withstand every day.

However, with time, I have managed to minimise this problem so that I no longer perceive reeds to be a stressful factor during any concert.
