Our baroque oboe cane, like all the cane we sell, is gouged in our workshop on Kunibert Michel gouging machines and then shaped by hand on a Hörtnagl shaping machine.

The French family-run company Alliaud SARL Roseaux, based in Sarrians near Avignon, has been one of the world's most renowned cane producers for over 80 years. Today the business is run by Rémi Alliaud, the third generation to continue the tradition established by his father François and his grandfather Paul.

Unlike many other French growers, Alliaud is not located in the classic cane-growing region of the Var, but in the northern Camargue.

Alliaud cane is appreciated by oboists worldwide for its consistent quality, its medium-to-hard density and its characteristic golden-yellow, often nicely grained appearance.
