Cor anglais reed: Koje Reeds, How Keen Yong

How Keen makes his cor anglais reeds, which are very responsive, in Malaysia on gouged cane from Oboe Shop.

Quite unusually, the reeds are tied on with transparent thread, so you are able to see the cane against the staple. This is particularly interesting for people who want to see at exactly which point the sides of the reed really close when tied onto the staple, which is usually concealed when using colourful thread.

The harder reeds are made with a H13 shaper and are tied on to 61mm, while the medium-hard reeds are made with a "-1" shaper and are tied on to 61.5mm.
