Valero Reeds was founded by the Spanish oboist José Andrés Valero, who in 2009 began by making cane material for his own use and later also supplied colleagues and fellow students. Out of this idea — to obtain the best and most consistent material possible for making oboe and cor anglais reeds — the company Valero Reeds was created in 2013 together with his wife María D. Espinosa, based in San Miguel de Salinas in southern Spain (province of Alicante).
